Storytelling Workshops with కథాపాఠశాల

“ముల్లు పోయి కత్తి వచ్చే డాం! డాం! డాం!”

If you happened to be taking a stroll along Tarnaka’s Street number 1 on June 29th at 11 AM, you would have heard this enthusiastic chorus of the well-known rhyme!

These were the voices, not of children, but about a dozen grown-ups attending the storytelling workshop conducted by Mr. Ravi of Katha Pathasala. Aimed at parents, grandparents, teachers, and anyone looking to better engage children through stories – this was a first for Manchi Pustakam! Naturally, we were a bit nervous when we made the announcement. But registrations came in fast and we had more than we could accommodate! (They would make it the second workshop in July)

With about 44 participants across three sessions in June and July, we consider this a great start to hopefully more!

Katha Pathasala is an initiative that began with the thought of bringing Telugu stories to Telugu people. They believe in two things:

1. Imagination is more powerful than knowledge.

2. Stories have the key to unlock the imagination.

Their blog includes stories for children, book reviews and more.
