Manchi Pustakam (literally meaning ‘Good Book’) specializes in publishing books in Telugu for children. Our focus is on fiction (picture stories for early learning and early readers, novels and stories for middle and high school children) and popular science books.
Our mission is to promote reading and readers – with a focus on developing children’s reading proficiency in Telugu.
We do this in the following ways:
- We publish and promote books that we identify as engaging, and those that spark a child’s curiosity and imagination.
- We help parents identify age appropriate reading material for their children. We guide them, if necessary, in their children’s reading progression.
- We help teachers in building libraries for their schools and suggest activities around the library.
- We also publish books on education and child rearing, for teachers and adults.
- We participate in the yearly book exhibitions at Hyderabad and Vijayawada, interacting with parents and kids.
- We help donors and philanthropists in identifying books for donating to school and general libraries.
How you can be a part of this mission:
1. Gift A Library to primary school children.
2. Gift A Library to high school children.
3. Donate books of your choice to your school/village. Contact us for assistance in selecting books.
4. Volunteer: for translations, or at our office (located in Tarnaka), or at our stall during the yearly Hyderabad and Vijayawada book fairs.
5. Help us in identifying books to be published in Telugu.
