Description
A Treasure Trove of Stories – Set of 4 books
Children love stories, whether myth or folktale, fable or fairy tale. The need for stories has not vanished today, yet our children have less and less opportunity to grow up listening to them. In the place of the storytellers, whether grandparents or others, we can read aloud to children, thus also creating in them an interest of reading, a skill that will be useful throughout life.
Getting children to read on their own is the objective of this set of 4 books with about 60 stories and 10 rhymes. Selected from popular folklore and fables, both traditional and modern, these are simple stories and rhymes full of fun and wit, and entertain as they educate.
With very young children, you could use the pictures to tell the story in your own words. Another way of doing this is to use the questions and answers style to build conversation with the child. And sometimes, you may even find that a story very different from the one that is narrated is being developed.
Read aloud to slightly older children, guiding them to follow the words and read with help. Older children may be encouraged to read the books on their own.
