In January 2024, Yakshi Samstha arranged for Telugu books for children at Nawabupeta. The books were displayed in the community so that parents and other elders would also be able to see the kind of books their children would now have access to the library.

2023’s Vijayawada Book Fair saw throngs of booklovers! In addition, we also saw a పుస్తక ప్రియుల పాదయాత్ర (with a lot of children participating), book reviews by kids, recitation of rhymes and more.
What especially caught our attention? అభ్యాస విద్యాలయం పిల్లల సృజనాత్మకత! వారు 3 కథల పాత్రల తోలు బొమ్మలు తయారు చేసి షాడో పిప్పెట్రీ సెట్ తో అందరిని ఆకట్టుకున్నారు.

In November, there came an announcement that had us filled with gratitude-
It was a double celebration as our dear C.A. Prasad garu was receiving the ఆత్మీయ పురస్కారం award on the same stage! We traveled to Guntur to receive this prestigious award. A few pictures from the event:

Instead of a traditional book release, we decided to have a reading from the newly released Chinnari Nestam (translation of the famous The Little Prince). This idea was met with enthusiasm from members of Bhoomika Theatre Group, and from many fans of the beloved story.

Do I want my child to be a reader? Why?
What do I hope my child will get out of making reading a habit? Do I have unrealistic expectations in this regard?
Am I willing to put in time (whatever possible) and effort to raise a reader?

Timbaktu had organised a permaculture training course with Ardhendu more than a decade ago. I was a translator and coordinator for this (and another program in Odisha). What I couldn’t do then has become possible through Kannada with the help of ICRA, Gayatri and Sudhasree. I am glad that Telugu readers will greatly benefit from this book.
